And just something that has been on my mind recently ... I read that the bones in the baby's ears are forming right about now. That means that there is a chance that the baby is beginning to hear things ... starting with my voice apparently. I'm trying not to yell at Drake as much!

Little Quilt
While the big quilt I have been "working on" for more than 5 years now still sits in it's bag waiting for me to take interest again, I have managed to come very close to finishing a little quilt for the baby. Putting the actual quilt together took hardly any time, but the binding is taking forever! We are driving up to Detroit in a few weeks, and I hope to knock it out on that drive if not before. But here is a sneak preview.
I love the different feels of all the fabrics.

Leaky Roof
The roof above the bathroom has been leaking periodically. All of this snow created quite the downpour in there. We had buckets all over the place collecting the smelly black liquid until one night Tanner couldn't sleep because of all the dripping. So he took and old shower curtain and converted it into a "ceiling drip funnel." Now all of the dripping goes straight into the shower.

My man may not be handy enough to actually fix a lot of the problems in this house, but he sure can MacGyver some crazy solution to make it more livable!

SNOW!!!
We got an amazing amount of snow over the past 2 days. Ironically, I was planning on going skiing yesterday, but was snowed in. Today the sun is out, so I decided to try again. After spending about an hour digging my car out, I made it about 4 miles from my house when I decided driving much further was not going to be a good idea. The main roads didn't look much better than mine. So for two days in a row now, there has been too much snow for me to skiing! Kinda funny. I did get out my snowshoes and have taken a few walks down the road with the dogs. It is amazingly beautiful. Hopefully the pictures give you an idea.

That tree actually fell in our yard. We could hear them cracking and falling the first night. Several landed across our road, but I think our neighbors must have been out there chainsawing them because they aren't blocking anything anymore. The snow is so heavy, and is still on the trees. I wonder if more won't fall before it starts to melt. Maybe I'll get to go skiing another weekend. I'm running out of time before I get too big though!

Expensive Weekend
Friday the frige stopped working.
Saturday my car broke down.
Sunday the piping under the sink decided not to hold water anymore.
It all could have been worse than it was, though. The fridge and my car are back in buisness. Tanner is going to look at the pipe today I think.
It's a good thing we make the big bucks (did you catch the hint of sarcasm?)!
On a lighter note, I did get to cross country ski this weekend. It was joyous. A beautiful sunny day surrounded by snow. Plus a great workout. You can see the webcam for where I was at here.

Belly Picture
Just kidding. Yes, we did take belly pictures, but I am not going to show them to you. They are horrible. I'm going to ask Tanner to try again. I'm at the point where I really just look chubby, which is ok, but looking quite that frumpy is not!
I had a nice relaxing weekend. I went ice skating for the first time in probably 3 years with my mom on Saturday. And of course, I left my ice skates on the kitchen table. However, that was probably a blessing in disguise becuase I ended up renting hockey skates. SOOOO much more comfortable on my bony ankles and I love that there is no toe pick. I was not prepared for the curved back end of the skate though, and I fell flat on my butt the first few seconds I was on the ice becuase I leaned too far back, which isn't a problem on figure skates becuase the back is flat. Funny that I never noticed that before!
We also got to watch Waynesburg Wrestling win solidly two matches this weekend. The home match was incredible. I couldn't believe how many people showed up. The gym was packed. It's so fun when you know the guys and they wrestle well.

Yuk
That's how I felt most of the day yesterday. That was the first time I was violently ill since I found out I was prengant. I guess I can't complain too bad. Managed to do the essentials (make phone calls, feed the dogs, feed Tanner), but spent as much time as possible in the horozontal position. Vertical made all things start to go bad. Slept great last night and feel fine this morning. Wierd.

Visitor
Lori is off searching for plankton in the ocean off Antarctica, and she has left her precious little dog in my care. And I really mean "care." Tanner has called me "the nurse" on several occasions because of all the meds the poor little guy is on. They take up a whole corner of the kitchen counter!
But he seems to have adjusted ok to our lifestlye. He spends most of the day sleeping right beside my desk at work.
Ah, if only I could sleep during those 8 hours every day! Retirement will be wonderful ... but I'd be ok without all the meds!
