Belly Picture

Just kidding. Yes, we did take belly pictures, but I am not going to show them to you. They are horrible. I'm going to ask Tanner to try again. I'm at the point where I really just look chubby, which is ok, but looking quite that frumpy is not!

I had a nice relaxing weekend. I went ice skating for the first time in probably 3 years with my mom on Saturday. And of course, I left my ice skates on the kitchen table. However, that was probably a blessing in disguise becuase I ended up renting hockey skates. SOOOO much more comfortable on my bony ankles and I love that there is no toe pick. I was not prepared for the curved back end of the skate though, and I fell flat on my butt the first few seconds I was on the ice becuase I leaned too far back, which isn't a problem on figure skates becuase the back is flat. Funny that I never noticed that before!

We also got to watch Waynesburg Wrestling win solidly two matches this weekend. The home match was incredible. I couldn't believe how many people showed up. The gym was packed. It's so fun when you know the guys and they wrestle well.

Yuk

That's how I felt most of the day yesterday. That was the first time I was violently ill since I found out I was prengant. I guess I can't complain too bad. Managed to do the essentials (make phone calls, feed the dogs, feed Tanner), but spent as much time as possible in the horozontal position. Vertical made all things start to go bad. Slept great last night and feel fine this morning. Wierd.

Visitor

Lori is off searching for plankton in the ocean off Antarctica, and she has left her precious little dog in my care. And I really mean "care." Tanner has called me "the nurse" on several occasions because of all the meds the poor little guy is on. They take up a whole corner of the kitchen counter! But he seems to have adjusted ok to our lifestlye. He spends most of the day sleeping right beside my desk at work. Ah, if only I could sleep during those 8 hours every day! Retirement will be wonderful ... but I'd be ok without all the meds!

Heartbeat!

Tanner and I got to hear our baby's heartbeat this morning. I am at 10 weeks today, which is pretty early to be able to hear it. The doctor was moving the ultrasound head around all over the place and I didn't think it was going to happen. Then, for just a few brief seconds, we could hear it. It was so fast before he lost it I was kinda unsure if I really heard it or not. But it was so fun for those few seconds! I guess I get to hear it every time I go now, so it might become routine, but the first time is incredible! Now I have proof other than my tiredness (oh, and the "error-proof test") that I actually have a little person growing inside of me. It is crazy how quickly they develop in there. Here's a picture of what the baby looks like. How in the world do they get those pictures anyway? This one looks kinda like ET! But the elbows already work and lots of the organs are already functioning. Crazy!
