For Father's Day and my Dad's birthday, I promised to take him on a canoe / kayaking trip. We finally got to go this weekend with Tanner, Jon, and Jon's friend. Unfortunately, I had the idea that Diesel would enjoy a trip on the river as well. He did seem to enjoy the pontoon well enough. However, what I thought would be a great idea ended up with me bear hugging Diesel in the front of the canoe to prevent him from jumping out, while Tanner paddled both of our sorry butts ... his kayak being towed behind. It was a funny sight I'm sure. But not so funny at the time. Overall, everyone did have a good time though. Dad fell in twice, which always seems to make him smile. We'll have to do it again, but without Diesel!

Graduation Party
Debra and Jon had Caleb's graduation party at their house the other weekend. It was tons of fun! Lots of people showed up, the food was great, and everyone seemed to have a good time. One little boy even got a ride on the tractor with Jon. He and Jon both really enjoyed that! Tanner made a cornhole game for Caleb, and it got lots of use all evening, along with the ladderball games. Now, it is off to bigger and better things for Caleb!
Those Kolbs sure know how to party!
Pirate Game
For her birthday, my Mom wanted to go to a Pirate Game with me. I love going to Pirate games. It doesn't get much better as far as crowd watching goes! This particular game we even won ... which is an extra bonus. And, before the game started it rained a little bit. Where we were standing to get out of the rain you could see the most perfect double rainbow right in front of the skyscrapers and ending in the river. It was amazing. And then one of the Gateway Clipper boats sailed right through it. My pictures turned out all right!

Oh, and then they shot off fireworks after the game with syncronized music blasting through the darkened ballpark. What a fun Pittsburgh evening!

Nashville
Well ... Hendersonville, a suburb of Nashville. Tanner's whole family gets together and Nana and Pop Pop's place on the lake for the 4th of July weekend. Tanner's aunt took more than 100 pictures, so I didn't really have to worry about taking any of my own!

Good times! We'll have to do it again next year!

Summer Blast
So, the actual reason we went to Michigan that week was to help out with Summer Blast at our old church. I had such a good time last year helping our Christian Ministries Director revamp the program that I wanted to do it again. She has some really great pictures and videos of the week. Mine aren't so great, but it gives you the idea. This is one of the older girls groups posing for a picture with their new shirts. I couldn't believe how many of the kids wore those shirts the whole week. They were really into it!
Here is a younger guys group getting in line for the obstacle course. That was a big hit.
I just today got a big envelope in the mail full of thank you cards that the kids must have made the Sunday after Summer Blast. Kids are so fun!

The Noggin Room
We also had an eventful few nights at the Noggin Room in Petoskey. First of all, Tanner has been waiting a very long time to drink from his hard-earned mug.
I guess they spelled Martin's wrong, but it is funny anyway. And the same night, Dominique completed her list, so now she just has to wait for her mug.
It will be fun next time we visit for everyone to be able to use thier mugs!
