I got to go to Pittsburgh this weekend to celebrate my Grandpa's 85th birthday bash. It was a big production at a nice restaurant with lots of family there. Even more impressive was that the whole thing was a surprise! It did cross my mind that having a surprise party for an 85 year old man might not be the best idea, but he survived and seemed to enjoy himself thoroughly! Here is a picture of me with the birthday boy and his bride.

If they are any indication, I will be around for many, many more years!!
This one is of me and my sister's all doll'ed up for the occasion.

We are normally not quite so beautiful!! And I had to add a picture of the cake. The lady that made the cake makes the most amazing cakes ever. She makes it completely from scratch. For example, if I were to make a cake "from scratch", that would mean using imitation almond flavoring and a blender to mix everything together ... basically not using a box.

For her it means ordering almonds fresh from California and grinding them to make her own almond flavoring and getting the butter and stuff fresh from the Amish. Even people who don't like cake love her cake. And this last picture is of Lori, Cameron, and Julie hanging out at the Waterfront.

We intended to go downtown, but due to traffic (surprise, surprise) we stoped our trip a little short. We still got in some good people watching and some really good Cold Stone Creamery ice cream, so it was ok!
