Wine

Tanner came home from Jamaica and had apparently watched a movie about a father and son growing wine on the plane. He decided that it would be romantic for us to drink a bottle of wine together. So, we went an rented a few stupid-humor comedies, got some gummy life savers to munch on, and bought our first bottle of wine. We aren't really all that romantic in general ... but it was worth a shot! I still really don't like the taste of alcohol, but in the name of romance I enjoyed some wine with my main (well, ok, my only) squeeze! It actually was kinda romantic!

Easy to Please

I love my dogs. I don't know what I would do without them! Especially now with Tanner in Jamaica and me here at a new house in a new neigborhood with new drug dealer neighbors (although, so far, they have been very friendly, I still don't trust them). Both dogs got their beloved bones for Christmas ... that is all they really want in life ... and I got myself a shock collar to try to get more control over Diesel. The cheap one we got didn't come with directions and my first attempt at using it sent Diesel carreening through the woods and I don't think he stopped trying to run away from the thing bitting his neck until he got about a mile away. Thank goodness there are other dog lovers out there to find silly dogs like mine and call their owners! So, now we are trying some "on leash" training to see if we can prevent that from happening again! What I have learned from this is that I am not really a good dog trainer. My dogs are far from well-behaved. But they sure are cute and loving and they make great company! And hopefully some day, I will be trained well enough to train them properly!

Salmon Family Christmas

So, the Salmon Family Christmas actually includes Limbachers, Prices, and Kolbs, but the Salmon's started it I guess! It is taking Tanner some time to get used to our traditions, but I like them. Every time we get together we spend a lot of time, just like this picture ... all sitting in the living room talking, laughing, arguing, listening to stories, playing games, opening presents, watching football ... whatever. But I like that we are all hanging out together. A lot of other places I go the women end up in the kitchen and the men end up in front of the TV. It is fun to hear what everyone has been up to since the last time we all sat together in a living room and did the same thing!

Christmas Tree!

I love Christmas! Tanner makes fun of me becuase of all the traditions my family has, but I love them. It took some pursuading, as usual, but I did get my tree ... and man do I love it. A few years ago I bought sparkly lights accidentally which was anoying at first, but I think they have really grown on me. I love the smell of a real tree. And I love the stories behind each of the ornaments. I do enjoy the trees that some people have with a particular theme and beautiful matching ornaments, but I am partial to my mismatched, home-made-with-love variety. Oh, and our angel lights up. How cool is that!

Flood

While the rest of the country has been hit with snow and ice, we have just been getting rain. There was a break in it for a while today so Diesel and I got to take a little walk with some sunshine poking through the clouds every now and then. The little stream behind our house overflowed it's banks and our backyard filled up. It was incredible!

But it didn't stop our neighbor, Duck, from feeding his cattle!

We Have Internet!!!

Yeah! We now have internet at the house which means I was able to take pictures of the new place and download them for you all to see! The first two are the kitchen. It is going to get some serious paint because of how dark it is in there. Tanner is in the process of replacing the carpet with hardwood ... I am not clean enough to have carpet in the kitchen!

The bathroom we have already done a lot of work in. The last thing will be pulling up the carpet and putting in the tile.
The bedroom is the biggest room in the house. I think it was the last addition.
The dining room with the fun corner built-in.

A few pictures of the living room. Gotta love the purple shag, but the gas furnace is really very fun!

So, there is the tour! Hope you enjoyed!
